“Liquid hair” is the super shiny trend that we keep popping up everywhere – See photos

Kim Kardashian is doing just that. Zendayadoing it. Dua Lipa is doing it, and countless of our favorite influencers are doing it too…

Super smooth, shiny, flowing hair is dominating our Explore Instagram pages, serving for inspiration when we want to feel a little more glossy and pulled together more. It’s also good because we have big plans for this winter. Our social calendar is booked and busy, and with friends we haven’t seen since 2019, we look forward to getting to know everyone.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this trend play out. “Glass Hair” evolved into the stratosphere in 2018 with sleek bobs taking over textured, beachy waves. But unlike the sharp straightness that characterizes the style, a new version – loose hair – was already underway to take the place. Difference? It’s silky and straight, just a little softer. The interface favors fluid motion with lots of light as it catches the light.

We asked the hair stylist Hollie Rose Clarke How to achieve your own look. For long lasting soft beauty, she recommends using keratin treatment in salon. “The smoothing treatment eliminates frizz, preserves color and reduces drying time by up to 12 weeks,” she explains.

Clarke is a fan of 72Hair therapy, an in-store treatment designed to penetrate all hair types to actively condition and restore hair for her clients. “Treatments can be tailored to give you the results you want,” she explains. “If you want a smoother finish, then we blow-dry the treatment into your hair and you don’t wash your hair for 72 hours. If you have curls and love them but want to get rid of frizz, we’ve got you covered. blow-dry. The treatment gets into your hair and you wash it off after 24 hours, leaving you with beautiful curls without the frizz.”

“It has a small amount of formaldehyde,” she insists, “which is purely to prevent bacteria, not to straighten hair. The reason other brands use a lot of these ingredients is to create a tress. straight, silky-smooth, while this ingredient restores your hair to its pristine state while smoothing and improving condition, creating a manageable, beautiful shine.”

As for the process, “Step one: wash your hair with a cleansing shampoo to open the cuticle,” says Clarke. “Step two: treatment is applied and left to cure for 35 to 45 minutes. Step three: treatment is blow-dried into hair. And step four: very small sections of hair are taken and straightened with a flat iron, seven up to 10 times at a time.” Then you’ll need to follow the lightness sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners.

But if you want to try the trend at home, your tactical products and straighteners can do a great job. “If you want to recreate the loose hair trend on your own, use IGK . Good Behavior Smoothing Spray ($32) or ColorWOW’s Dream Coat ($28) and straighten it out with your flatiron,” says Clarke. Ending with ColorWOW Extra Mist-ical Shine ($29) or Kevin Murphy’s Shimmer Shine Spray ($37) for that glossy finish,” she said.
