Light Novel Overlord Author Complaints Manuscript of next volume exceeds 700 pages
Author Kugane Maruyama assured fans that the upcoming books will be out very soon.
hegemony Author Kugane Maruyama announced on his Twitter account that the most recent draft for the upcoming 15th volume of the light novel exceeds 700 pages.
Episode 15 will be split into two parts, with Maruyama Guaranteed to fans of the series that he is working hard to make sure the book comes out soon.
The afterword to the 14th volume of the series states that the light novel will end with the release of the 17th volume. Volume 14 was released in Japan on March 12, 2020 and has yet to be released in English.
Maruyama Publishing a novel for the first time in 2010 with illustrations by so-bin, through the novel publishing website Arcadia as well as the user-generated novel publishing website, Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Enterbrain took over publishing of the series after acquiring Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2011.
An adaptation of a manga written by Satoshi Ōshio and illustrated by Hugin Miyama began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine in 2014. So far, the manga has collected 15 volumes.
One anime anime adaptation of Studio madhouse first aired in Summer 2015. Three seasons of 13 episodes have aired, with a fourth season announced in May 2021. Naoyuki Itō (No gun of life, Re: Cutie Honey) to direct the series, with Yukie Sugawara (Kaguya-sama: Love is war, Abnormalities at Magic High School) act as the script writer.
A series set to cover the Holy Kingdom Arc has been announced along with the fourth season. No release window has been announced yet. Madhouse has previously released two syndicated films, King of the Undead & Dark knight in 2017.
Yen Press publishes the light novel and manga series in English. Funimation licensed the animated series in English, along with the 2016 synopsis and OVAs.
