LeBron James tests positive for COVID, may have to miss next 10 days of practice & play

LeBron James has officially tested positive for coronavirus.

Yesterday (Tuesday, November 30), the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings in a game 117-92. However, a famous star of the Lakers–LeBron James–Notable absence from the game due to health-related NBA protocols!

Hours before the match started, the news broke that LeBron James will not participate. The initial reasoning behind the decision was rather vague, with the Lakers reporter Mike Trudell tweets:

“LeBron James will be on the field tonight against Sacramento due to NBA health and safety regulations.”

Due to the nature of the tweet, many assumed the issue was related to COVID. However, it was initially unclear whether the 36-year-old athlete tested positive or simply had close contact with another person who had contracted the virus.

Soon after, an update was made available to shed more light on the issue. Are known, LeBron was tested for COVID yesterday (November 30) with positive results. He then took a second test to double-check the results, even though this one came back negative. After performing a third test that essentially breaks the constraint, LeBron James finally tested positive for coronavirus.

LeBron is said to be asymptomatic and is returning home recovering. According to NBA protocol, he will have to submit two negative tests or stay away from all team-related activities for 10 days.

This news comes about two months after the NBA star confirm he is vaccinated for COVID-19. Although fully vaxxed, LeBron makes it clear that he’s not interested in advocating for others to do the same:

“You have to do what’s best for your family. So I know what I did for me and my family. I know some of my friends and what they did for their families. But as far as people and their personalities and what they want to do, I don’t feel that way… that’s not my job. ”
