Latina-owned business in Chicago offers healthier food options on the West Side

CHICAGO, Il – A Latina family owned business called “MCM Protein Bar” will open to the public this weekend. It offers healthier food options in the West Pilsen neighborhood, all with a delightful Mexican twist!
Owners Monica Aranda, Arasele Calvo and Marlen Villordo said it took them a year to open their dream business. They all have a background in nutrition!

“I feel like I can offer something different in this community,” says owner Monica Aranda.
MCM Protein Bar offers food and drinks that are as nutritious and delicious as their drinks on michelada. Instead of alcohol, michelada is made up of energizing vitamins and seltzer water. The owners say all of their meals are high in protein, offering more than 5 different flavored protein powders.

Aranda said once they start making a profit, they want to give back to the community by creating a scholarship program for DACA students.

MCM Protein Bar will open this weekend, July 17th!
