Las Vegas woman’s Ring cam records stranger’s terrifying threats
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man was caught on a Ring doorbell cam video knocking on the door of a city center Las Vegas returned home and threatened to “rape and kill” the woman inside who was in custody, police said on Thursday.
That woman, Amanda Nowak, is thanking the police and wrote in a post on her Facebook page on Thursday “the power of using social media is so powerful and it proves it! Thanks everyone! I’m just glad he’s out. “
The incident happened on Wednesday night when Nowak was alone at home. She did not know the man at her door.
In the Ring video, the man can be heard repeatedly asking, “Are you sure? Are you positive? I just have a few questions for you.”
Nowak said she never answered the man, hid in the house and called 911. Nowak’s husband, who was not at home, accessed the intercom and asked who he was.
The man replied: “What I am looking for is the girl in the house because I will rape her and kill her. Can you let her open the door? He then added that he had a knife and a gun.
Moments later, the man left the house.
Police responded to Nowak’s home and the 911 operator remained on the phone with her throughout the entire ordeal.
Nowak posted a video of Ring’s doorbell on social media after the incident to warn others about the man.
Police said they will release additional details about the arrest as the investigation progresses.
