An illness was Lamar Jackson Officially inactive for Ravens‘road game with Bear on Sunday. Baltimore changed Jackson’s status to questionable Saturday afternoon. He was fully involved in Friday’s training after missing training Wednesday and Thursday. While Raven hasn’t specified the type of illness the former MVP is dealing with, it’s not related to COVID-19. Jackson reported to Soldier Field on Sunday trying to play through the bout of illness, but CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson reported before he was officially listed as inactive that he was “not good enough to compete.”
Jackson will now miss what he should have been in his first game against the Bears, who will finish a week after starting the year 3-6. Including the knockouts, Jackson is 25-2 against a team for the first time and he’s also 12-0 against NFC teams, so this is naturally a big loss for Baltimore.
Going into Week 11, Jackson’s 2021 season has already matched his MVP of the 2019 season. He throws 2,447 yards and 14 touchdowns while completing 64.4% of his passes. He also dashed 639 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 6 yards per take. Jackson has 400 yards more javelin than the lead driver Baltimore.
With Jackson unable to go, second year quarterback Tyler Huntley will start his first career. He has thrown 16 career passes in the regular season, including 11 rescue passes in Baltimore’s Week 7 loss to Bengals. Huntley amassed over 8,500 all-purpose yards and 63 touchdowns during his 4 years in Utah. The Raven also raises the QB Follow McSorley from the practice team on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Baltimore also excludes recipients Marquise Brown, who was initially listed as suspected with a thigh injury. Brown was restricted from practice Friday after skipping practice Wednesday and Thursday. Brown has caught 52 719-yard passes and six touchdowns this season.
