‘KPOP, the Musical’ won’t get its Broadway tryout in Washington after all

The musical was to have been one in all a trio of exhibits attempting out at nonprofit firms in Washington this fall. The others are Michael R. Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “A Unusual Loop” at Woolly Mammoth Theatre, and “As soon as Upon a One Extra Time,” set in a fairy story world to the songbook of Britney Spears, at Shakespeare Theatre Firm. “KPOP” had the potential to attract the most important nightly viewers by far in Signature’s historical past, and probably a youthful demographic, because the Anthem’s versatile house was envisioned to accommodate as much as 1,900 clients an evening through the December-January run. (The precise dates of the run had but to be publicly introduced.)
