Koei Tecmo plans some big game reveal for 2022

A recent interview with Koei Tecmo revealed that the Japanese publisher has some big games in production that are expected to be revealed next year.


It has been a busy year for Koei Tecmo, as the Japanese publisher and many of their developers have released major games. Between the debut of By Gust Blue Reflection: Second Light in November and the revision of 2014 Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water Coming to modern consoles in October, many of Koei Tecmo’s biggest names have been in the spotlight this year. Now, Koei Tecmo has made it clear that the developer has set even higher expectations for itself as it enters 2022.


Koei Tecmo launches in early 2021 with two big games released very early in the year, Team Ninja’s Nioh 2 and Omega Force’s Persona 5 strikers both debuted in February, with Striker recently confirmed for PS Plus in the first month of 2022. Koei Tecmo games have been popular throughout the year Atelier RPG series received both new main series entry and compilation and Samurai Warriors launches the fifth main series game. Now, a recent interview from Koei Tecmo staff hints at even bigger projects from the major publisher coming up next year.

A recent interview with Japanese website 4gamer featuring interviews with several different members of Koei Tecmo’s staff with general manager Yosuke Hayashi stated that next year’s releases will be showing the studio’s “full power”.
