King Regina’s son, Ian Alexander Jr., died by suicide [Condolences]

Very sad news. Regina King’s Boy Ian Alexander Jr. died by suicide. He is the only child of the actress whom she shares with her ex-husband, record producer Ian Alexander Sr. His 26th birthday is on Wednesday.

“Our family is devastated to the deepest extent by the loss of Ian,” King said in a statement sent to PEOPLE. “He is a bright light who is very concerned about the happiness of others. Our family respectfully considers during this private time. Thank you.”
