Kevin Spacey: who is an actor and what is he accused of?

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with sexual assault.

The 62-year-old actor is known for his roles in Oscar-winning films and has also appeared in popular television series.

But who is Kevin Spacey and what are the charges against him?

Prosecutors have cleared sexual assault charges against three men in four counts.

The CPS has also approved a charge of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

The alleged incidents took place between March 2005 and August 2008 in London and April 2013 in Gloucestershire.

Below is a review of the evidence the Metropolitan Police have gathered in their investigation into the actor.

Rosemary Ainslie, chief of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: “Prosecutors are reminding all those involved that criminal proceedings are pending against Mr. Spacey and that he has the right to a fair trial.”

Spacey is an American actor and producer who began his career as a stage actor in the 1980s. His career took off with a barrage of film roles in the ’90s.

A two-time Academy Award winner, he is known for starring in American Beauty and more recently in the Netflix political drama House Of Cards, where he played Frank Underwood from 2013-2017.

Among the films he has appeared in are The Usual Suspects and Se7en.

He is also rumored to be in the movie The Man Who Drew God and was recently cast in the movie Peter Five Eight.

Spacey was previously Artistic Director of The Old Vic Theater in London.

Its representatives were asked to comment.

It is understood that while the CPS approved the charges, Spacey has not been formally charged because he is not in the country.

The CPS said it could neither confirm nor deny whether or not Spacey would have to be extradited to the UK.

In principle, the person concerned is free in such cases to return to the indictment. If this does not happen, prosecutors could initiate extradition proceedings.
