Kevin Smith teases new characters in ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation’ Season 2

The first season of Master of the Universe: Revelation is now complete, following the release of a second wave of five episodes last week. Netflix’s mature sequel from the original 1980s He man the cartoon turned out to be more controversies than expected, as die-hard fans made the decision to get rid of Prince Adam (Chris Wood) and focus on Teela (Sarah Michelle Gellar).
Season 2 somewhat countered these criticisms, delivering more than longtime fans expected, including some epic battles between He-Man and a Souped-up Skeletor (Mark Hamill). And we can seem to expect even more delicious food to satisfy fans in season 2. In an interview with People who like strong feelings, host Kevin Smith was asked if characters like Mekaneck, Granamyr and Zodak could join the scene next time. Here’s how Smith responded:
“You just mentioned two names that we literally tried to include in our story,” Smith revealed. “If we do Season 2, rest assured that you will probably see those cats. But we tried. We said, “Okay, what if we do this?” But it turns out we were saying, “If we were to do Season 2, based on what we planted in Season 1, Mekaneck would be a very useful character there.” And the same goes for Granamyr. But it’s a shame of wealth with Master of the universe because the bench is too deep. I’m sure at the end Revelation, there will be people who are angry with us, not because of whatever we did to the story, but because we didn’t include their favorite characters. ”

Revelation managed to include many characters from not only the OG animated series but also other installments of the franchise and of course, the toy line. For example, the likes of Fisto, Clamp Champ, and Ram Man all made memorable appearances in season 1, season 2. Furthermore, the finale ends with a key hint that one of the villains is worth noting best in Master universe will be known in part 2. Spoilers to:
It was She-Ra’s enemy, Lord Hordak. This is clearly teasing that Adam’s twin sister Adora may also be present.
Still, it’s a bit of a stretch, but considering the Power Princess rights are left elsewhere – Amazon is working a live-action She-Ra project, remember – at least Smith promised us that Adam’s allies Mekaneck and Granamyr, lord of the dragons, would be known in season 2. Not much we know about season 2 at this stage because Netflix has yet to officially announce that, let alone let us know when it is expected to arrive.
