Keds on the Runway – WWD

The KEDs are CORRECT: Keds, a nostalgic sports shoe brand founded in 1916, is collaborating with IMG, New York Fashion Week and designer Maisie Schloss.

For the upcoming New York Fashion Week, Schloss, the creative director of the brand Maisie Wilen, has teamed up with Keds on an exclusive limited line of shoes that will be revealed during her show scheduled on February 12. Schloss is backed by Kanye West and is a former women’s designer at West’s Yeezy fashion house. She is also an alumnus of the Parsons School of Design.

Jen Lynch, vice president and general manager of Keds, told WWD: “Working with Maisie was an opportunity to reinvent and give a new perspective on Keds. “It’s about taking the silhouettes of our heritage and really sizing them up in a way we’ve never done before. Maisie brings a lot of energy and optimism to her clothes and shoes. Being able to have fun with fashion is a great palette cleaner, giving us a sense of foundation and joy that is lacking in our world today. “

Lynch declined to describe the Schloss designs for Keds, other than to point out that it was a wide array, saying she didn’t want to spoil the surprise at the show. For New York Fashion Week fall 2022, Keds, a division of Wolverine Worldwide, will unveil another footwear collection with a CFDA designer later this year.
