Katy Perry’s Hair Tie Is The ‘Fairy Hair’ Festive Party Style You’ve Been Looking For

Since I moved to Florida a few years ago, I’ve noticed a hair trend I haven’t seen elsewhere: A lot of people wear glitter in their hair. They call it “fairy hair” around here, and it’s a styling service often seen at county fairs, along with face painting and a combed t-shirt. But Katy Perry just gave the interface a big boost with Vegas style hair glitter.

Perry posted a series of clips and photos to her Instagram network earlier this week promoting her upcoming Las Vegas residence, Play. In it, she wears a stylish white suit called Elvis Presley, but her hair sparkles more than rhinestones.

Having recently returned to her once signature brown hairdo, she was seen wearing rainbow glitter strands that stood out over her super straight, super dark, super long hair. It has an almost ombré effect, with the intensity of the glitter rising near her chin.

Perry isn’t the first music superstar to try glitter, although it’s been a while. Back to the 2010 Grammys Beyoncé wore glitter in her long, straight, golden hair.

And the interface has certainly had some standout moments since then. For example, model Ash Walker shared her stunning look in 2019 and K-pop stars brought it back into focus in 2018.

Even if you currently can’t afford to go to a celebrity stylist or county fair, you can still try fairy hairstyles. Some brands sell tinsel on Amazon, like Dansee, offers 750 gorgeous iridescent yarns for just $10.
