Kathleen Kennedy teases return of Star Wars Sequel Trilogy characters

Just like the prequel trilogy that preceded it, Star Wars sequel films seem to have earned equal respect, contempt, and indifference. But in the time since the conclusion is still sore, some fans have discovered that they really miss those new characters. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and the rest of the gang may have had a few rather sporadic stories dedicated to their character development, but that’s not to say they didn’t get their share of the story. admire.
So it might be a pleasant surprise to learn that at least some of them can make a great comeback Star Wars sooner than one might expect. At least, that’s how things look to be if Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy’s words can be taken for granted. A recent interview focusing on more current events in a galaxy far, far away briefly touched on the topic. Star Wars characters of the sequel trilogy, and Kennedy decided to play things just a little bit corny.
“Sure, those aren’t characters we’ll forget,” Kennedy told Empire when the subject of sequel characters came up. “They’re going to live on, and so are the ongoing conversations with the creative team.” Feature review Star Wars tends to return every conceivable and referenced character whenever possible, which may not come as a surprise to some. But it sure is good to hear from those who have enjoyed genius of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and “definitely a movie” by the other two.
However, the sequel wasn’t the only topic of conversation during Kennedy’s talk with Empire magazine. She also mentioned some particularly believable news from the series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi. It was common knowledge that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the limited series alongside Ewan McGregor as the famous Jedi hermit. But until now, there hasn’t been any story about the two of them meeting again on set. Kennedy got to witness that reunion first-hand, which she could certainly add to her list of the best perks of her job.
Kennedy spoke of the experience perhaps heartwarming. “They haven’t seen each other in a long time. I was amazed at how deeply each one felt when I saw myself returning to these roles and just realized how important they are. Star Wars for each of them. It was the beginning of their career. “Some may still not feel like Star Wars the prequel happened a long time ago, but it’s been almost 20 years since Christensen and McGregor first performed together in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and longer since the second person played Kenobi for the first time in The Phantom Menace.
Yes, everyone is old. The fans are old, the actors are old, the movies are old, and the jokes are old. To all the millennials out there who (rightfully) refuse to believe that time exists, Obi-Wan Kenobi looks like it will carry a bit of strong nostalgia. For others, this is probably true. It’s not like millennials have a monopoly on remembering things, contrary to what a multitude of thoughts might imply.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi currently airing on Disney Plus in 2022.
