Kanye West – Morris Brown University President Tweets Rapper In An Effort To Recognize Her Late Mother At The ‘Donda’ Release Party She Taught At HBCU For 20 Years
Kanye West received a lot of love prior to the release of his late mother’s self-titled album, Donda.
To celebrate his latest project, Kanye West will be hosting a listening party at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium tonight (July 22). Kanye West previously gave 5,000 free tickets to HBCU students, faculty, and staff to attend his listening party.
Just hours before the highly anticipated event, a tweet from Morris Brown College president Kevin E. James went viral when he tried to contact Kanye. he wrote,
“@kanyewestMy name is Kevin James, President of HBCU Morris Brown College at Atl. Your mother has taught at our university for 20 years and is the Chair of the English Department. I will be at your concert tonight and would like to present a solution on your mother’s behalf.”
By Kanye Mother tragically died from complications of surgery in 2007. She was 58 years old.
Kevin E. James then responded to the tweet by mentioning By Kanye estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.
Fortunately, his efforts paid off, and just hours later he updated Twitter users and said he had a meeting with the rapper’s team.
Kanye West announced Donda released earlier this week, after months of speculation. He teased a new song “No Child Left Behind” with a video featuring the song’s star Sha’Carri Richardson. It also served as an advertisement for Beats By Dre.
