Justin Herbert did some incredible things in his first two years in the NFL, but delivered the best performance of his career on Sunday night. Herbert completed 30 of 41 382-yard passes with three touchdowns with just one interception (rated 116.1) while dashing nine times in the 90 metres. Los Angeles charger‘thrilling 41-37 win first Pittsburgh Steelers – achieved a feat that no midfielder in NFL history has been reached.

Herbert was the first quarterback to throw 350 yards and 90 yards in an NFL game. No quarterback in the NFL’s 101-year history reached that limit until Herbert completed it Sunday night.

“He has a real instinct in the game for position,” Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said of Herbert after the game, via the Charger website. “His feet today really helped us win that football match. … The way they played the game. He knew when it was daylight and he ran there. That means it forces the defense to change and that’s a good thing. They can’t play those games against us. And if they do, they better count on him.”

Herbert’s 90-yard dash is the most in a game by a quarterback in franchise history. Herbert and Steve Young became the only players in NFL history to throw 300 yards and three touchdowns and hit 50 yards in a double game (Young did the feat six times). He became the eighth player to throw 300 yards in a match and go 60 yards in a match twice, along with Young (four times), Russell Wilson (three), Michael Vick (three), Jalen Hurts (two), Daunte Culpepper (two), Rich Gannon (two), and Donovan McNabb (two) on that exclusive list.

Herbert also became the second-fastest career quarterback to hit career 7,000 yards, hitting the mark in just his 25th career game – surpassing Kurt Warner on the all-time list. Only one Patrick Mahomes reach milestones faster (21 games).

Herbert continued to rewrite the history books while putting the Chargers in place for a playoff berth. Whether it’s with his hands or feet, he is emerging as one of the best quarterbacks in the league in just his second season.
