Judge Bruce Schroeder Launching MSNBC From Kyle Rittenhouse Trial In Kenosha Through ‘Producer’ Trailing Jury

Presiding Judge Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial banned MSNBC from court after a man claiming to be a network producer allegedly followed a bus carrying a jury of 12 to weigh the teen’s fate.
Judge Bruce Schroeder said on Thursday that Kenosha Police arrested a person who “identified himself as James J. Morrison, and who claimed he was a producer for NBC News and MSNBC.” Schroeder said he appeared to have been pulled over for running a red light and told police he had been instructed to follow the bus.
“I have directed that no one from MSNBC be allowed into this building for the duration of this trial,” Schroeder said. “This is a very serious matter. And I don’t know what the ultimate truth of it is.”
The Kenosha Police Department confirmed on Thursday that a person “supposed to be affiliated with a national media outlet was briefly detained and given a number of traffic-related citations”.
Police and Schroeder say grand jury security was never compromised in the incident. Judges are on Tuesday to consider whether 18-year-old Rittenhouse should be convicted of five felony counts of two murders and one-third wounding last August.
“Police suspect this person was attempting to take pictures of the jurors,” police said in a statement, adding that the case was under “further investigation.”
However, NBC said in a statement on Thursday that the person is a freelancer who just happened to receive a traffic ticket near the grand jury bus.
“Last night, a freelancer received a traffic alert. While a traffic violation occurred near a jury vehicle, the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jury during deliberation, and never took pictures or attempted to photographed them,” the statement said. “We regret the incident and will fully cooperate with authorities in any investigation.”
Despite admitting that he did not know the “ultimate truth,” Schroeder, who was criticized throughout this trial for the media’s eccentric and objectionable courtroom tactics, took the form of punishment. its own – and ban MSNBC outright.
Julius Kim, Milwaukee-based crime defense attorney and former prosecutor, told The Daily Beast that if the person accused of riding the grand jury bus was indeed a freelancer, MSNBC should resist the judge’s injunction.
“I think MSNBC can — and should — hire an outside attorney to intervene and ask the court to reconsider because that would be unfair,” Kim said. “Unless, in fact, a real MSNBC employee instructed him to follow the bus and/or take a photo of the jury. If that is not the case, I will ask the judge to reconsider.”
Immediately following Schroeder’s announcement, several Fox News personalities celebrated the fact that their cable TV rival would not be allowed to cover the massively-watched trial live.
“I think it speaks to the larger issue of free speech,” Fox News spokesman Harris Faulkner said during a Thursday broadcast about outnumber. “And I don’t mean on behalf of MSNBC. They want to change the story! They want to take pictures of people and they know it’s wrong. “
Former Trump spokesman and current Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany added to the above group.
“They are behaving badly,” she exclaims. “That means Joy Reid will essentially have no data for her show. MSNBC is not in the courtroom. She is one of the worst offenders of smearing this young man, among others in her network. ”
