Jonathon Groff has to slam Keanu Reeves’ face against the wall in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’

For many viewers and die-hard fans of the entertainment industry, this year’s holiday season marks the return of one of the biggest hit series of all time.
Matrix Recovery will serve as the fourth entry in Matrix sci-fi universe, bringing back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in their respective roles as Neo and Trinity. Movie will also provide something of a clean means of blocking for the story, a lighthearted reboot, Neo once again finds himself in the artificially constructed simulation world and a version of Morpheus (played this time by Yahya Abdul-Mateen) gives him the pill. red to change life.
Of course, what distinguishes Matrix from many sci-fi series in the history of cinema is the extensive and brilliant use of action sequences to reinforce the plot. And it seems, Matrix Recovery will prove to be no exception to this rule.
In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, actor Jonathon Groff, known for his role as King George in the critically acclaimed film Hamilton musical, which talks about one of his action scenes in the movie when he fights Neo, highlighting the “love” and “respect” that make up these scenes, especially when it involves banging Keanu Reeves’ face against a wall.
“Lana was like, ‘If you could open your palm and put your finger just below Keanu’s eyeball and then bang his face against the wall, that would be great for [the] Camera.’ I looked at Keanu and he just nodded at me, like, ‘Do it.’ And trust! I mean I have to spin around, smack it in the face, then hit the thing. I feel like there’s so much love and respect exchanged in those moments. “

Groff further explains that doing such intimate scenes of a more violent nature makes you feel “deeply connected” to your co-star, saying:
He taught me a lot about the deal between two people fighting but not hurting each other. It’s like making love to someone. When our fight ended, I felt a deep connection to him physically.
There are fight scenes, and then there are fight scenes. I suppose hitting Keanu Reeves in the face is a completely different thing to deal with. Anyhow, I guess we’ll see for ourselves the aforementioned battle sequence when Matrix Recovery Released on December 22nd.
