John Cena Becomes Hydro-Man in This Spider-Man Fan Art

There may have been a Sandman movie, but John Cena will play another classic Spider-Man villain.
Spiderman The Hydro-Man villain may have had a bigger part in the ’90s animated series, but he’s so far been underrepresented in the live-action Spidey projects (despite the water elemental from Away from home can be considered an approximation). If this classic villain appears in a future movie, why not cast someone as recognizable as John Cena? A fan artist gave fans a hint on how to look.
Hydro-Man, also known as Morris Bench, was accidentally thrown from a ship into the water after getting caught in the middle of a battle. between Spider-Man and Namor. The bench fell into the ocean and caught the eye of an experimental generator. This apparently caused him to transform into Hydro-Man and he began to blame Spider-Man for his current predicament. His anger has led him to a life of crime while seeking revenge against web robbers.
His abilities include adept street fighting, water manipulation, superhuman durability, superhuman strength, and can also transform himself into a liquid with water. All of his cells are still under his control and he can also merge and manipulate larger bodies of water while in liquid form. He can increase his mass, which of course causes tidal waves as well as tsunamis. By transforming into a liquid form, he becomes invulnerable to certain types of projectiles such as bullets and of course web-slinging. Sandman is a very dangerous enemy with similar properties, so it’s a pity Hydro-Man never made it into the Sinister Six
To capture all the deadly aspects of Hydro-Man’s power, M.Design34 created a piece of fan art with John Cena as inspiration. The artwork showcases Morris Bench’s civilian appearance while also showing the character’s watery half very much like the Bench in the pages of the comics.
M.Design34 also has more artwork on the page. Expect to see more realistic drawings or creations that are nod to the characters, actors, and creators of Marvel products. There’s a lot of artwork to see and they post quite often, so be sure to check it out whenever you get the chance as they all look great.
M.Design34 also featured slides from the comic pages that inspired this artwork. Show credibility and also articulate a vision for fan art. It’s also a nice callback to the character’s place of origin, which is always appreciated by die-hard comic fans. Hopefully one day Marvel fans will get to see a live-action version of this character.
