Joe Rogan reveals he’s turned down Trump for an interview multiple times

Joe Rogan claimed this week that Donald Trump repeatedly asked to appear on his popular podcast – only for the controversial podcaster to turn down the offers because he was “not interested” in helping Trump.

Just days after endorsing Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis for president, the founding member of the so-called Intellectual Dark Web also pointed out that he was “in no way, shape or form a Trump supporter.”

Speaking to podcast host Lex Fridman earlier this week, Rogan noted that the “Trump era will also be one of the strangest times” in recent history.

“When people look back historically at the division of this country, he is such a polarizing figure that so many people felt they could abandon their own ethics, morals and principles just to attack him and anyone who supported him, because he poses an existential threat to democracy itself,” the UFC commentator continued.

After Fridman hinted that Trump was a symptom rather than the cause and that “it’s going to get weirder,” Rogan noted that the twice-impeached ex-president is likely to run for the White House again in 2024. At the same time, he said Trump had a good chance of winning if he faced President Joe Biden.

“Well, he’s running into a dead man, you know? I mean, Biden shakes hands with people who aren’t even there when he comes off the stage. I think he’s seeing ghosts,’ Rogan sneered.

He also criticized Biden’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show, saying the president was “just digressing” and that if he were Trump or any other Republican, “every damn talk show would be screaming for him to go off the air.”

Despite his outspoken criticism of Biden’s performance as president, the star podcaster — who has achieved hero status on the right for his transphobic and anti-vaccine commentary — wanted it to be known that he wasn’t a Trump fan. And that he keeps rejecting offers from Trump’s camp.

“By the way, I’m in no way a Trump supporter,” he said. “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once: I’ve said no every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.”

With a hint of skepticism, Fridman insisted that Rogan would eventually “dress” him, noting that the host said he wasn’t interested in politics and was instead interested in having a “good conversation” with his guests.

“And I think you had Kanye, for example, and you had a great conversation with them,” Fridman added, referencing Rogan’s interview with the MAGA-boosting rap superstar.

“Yes, but Kanye is an artist,” Rogan replied. “Kanye is fine or not – it doesn’t change the course of our country.”

Rogan’s outright rejection of Trump and recent endorsement of DeSantis comes as conservatives increasingly dump the ex-president amid the committee’s explosive Jan. 6 hearings. Trump is reportedly preparing to officially announce a 2024 bid soon, to mitigate the political damage from the hearings and steal headlines from potential GOP rivals like DeSantis.
