Jk Simmons Teases His DCEU Return In HBO Max’s ‘Batgirl’
For a while there, it looked like JK Simmons would suffer the exact same DCEU fate as Joe Manganiello, in that he’s been cast in a role for which he’s a perfect fit, just because of his affiliation with the franchise ending in the fastest possible fashion as Warner Bros. choose to draw a line under SnyderVerse.
Ironically, both actors benefited from Zack Snyder’s 4-hour cut Alliance justice, which makes them more present in the story and has more to chew on, but it looks like it will. However, in a most unexpected and totally welcome turn of events, Simmons is gearing up for his first-screen return in the HBO Max exclusive. Bat girl.
Speaking on Mixed joy and sadness podcast, the Academy Award winner admitted his surprise at being asked to return as the Gordon Animated Series Commissioner, but he’s happy to finally get the length Use screen worthy.
“I was completely surprised when they came back to me recently and wanted me to be Commissioner Gordon again and have a more important role. I’m looking forward to it.
