Jimmy Kimmel returns from COVID and takes on ‘virus’ Kellyanne Conway over book claims

After testing positive for COVID twice in three weeks, Jimmy Kimmel returned to his late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! On Monday. “I wasn’t very ill either time. Luckily I had two booster shots and a whole bottle of Flintstones vitamins to help me out,” he joked.

“Speaking of viruses,” Kimmel later explained, “Kellyanne Conway has returned to public life with a book about her days as Donald Trump’s henchman. The book is called That’s the deal.”

He then cuts to a clip of Conway promoting the book by reading an excerpt: “Here’s the deal: It’s been quite a story, quite a ride, quite a journey, quite a life.” And I’m still going. God tested me and trusted me. He asked me to carry burdens that didn’t break me. And He has bestowed on me blessings I could never have imagined or deserved. Amen.”

“Yes, amen. I don’t think you’re allowed to end your book with ‘amen’,” Kimmel erupted. “And did you notice that she doesn’t look at the book at all while reading it? Wonder.”

In Conway’s book, she describes how, after the infamous Trump, he considered dropping out of the presidential race Access Hollywood Tape – the one on which Trump boasted he was entitled to grab women “by the pussy” because he was “a star” – leaked. (The news was first reported by The Daily Beast reporter Zachary Petrizzo.)

“[Trump] asked [Conway] If he should drop out, but she told him to move on, and instead of stepping down because he bragged about grabbing women by the privates, she encouraged him to stay and make choices that would protect every woman’s privates for years to come would control, and we all lived crappy lives,” Kimmel said. “Amen. Thank you, Kellyanne.” Jimmy Kimmel returns from COVID and takes on ‘virus’ Kellyanne Conway over book claims
