Jeff Bezos is a rich man. Second Richest, It’s a. It’s a completely crazy thing when you think about it, but someone has to do it. Now he’s attending a gala here and there – ‘for the rest of the season – and he’s constantly making headlines at these functions. One for one fun interaction between him; his girlfriend, Lauren Sánchez; and known quantity Leonardo DiCaprio. And now, at the Baby2Baby gala, for donating every fraction of his dollar.
“Everybody was waiting for him to donate something, but he didn’t,” Page six anonymous source. “And then a little later, [Bezos] donate $500,000. There was a groan in the room. “
A sitting guest refused to talk to Vanity Fair. “I wouldn’t say there were groans from the crowd after Bezos’ donation was announced,” the person said. “But a lot of people have said, ‘Is that it? Only $500,000? ‘ [Co-auctioneer Nicole] Richie said at the beginning, ‘Who wants to give a million dollars?’ And someone in the crowd cheered loudly, “Jeff Bezos!”
This is the problem with being a billionaire. Everyone wants a piece. Men, women and babies all have their own. But quiz me: If he pays everybody at his company, Amazon, a living wage, pay property taxes and donate a million to Baby2Baby, then he would just be one of the richest people on the planet instead of number two. And where is the joy in that?
I suppose it’s good that he can raise anything. Didn’t want to stop the man from becoming a villainous textbook billionaire by giving away some of his fortune. It’s just, you know, he can always do a little more. According to a Time article announced in July, Bezos has granted a total of about $1.5 billion in actual funds, which at the time was equal to 0.7% of his wealth.
In the end, he also has to pay with his weight, by being the subject of James Corden joke. Calling Baby2Baby a star is an understatement, like Vanity Fair gala connoisseurs Paul Chi can attest, and beauties love to joke around with each other. Corden gave a speech referring to A little bit about Bezos’ baby DiCaprio from the last gala they attended: “Now, listen, don’t worry, Jeff. I want you to know, I took it upon myself to make sure Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t here tonight, okay,” Corden said on stage. “Don’t ask me how, but I did it, okay. I was there with you, brother. We were all there. There are a lot of men in this room with partners more attractive than them. If Leonardo DiCaprio comes later, and all the men here have wives more attractive than them — me and Scott Stuber [head of original films at Netflix]—We will form a kind of protective cone around you. Do not worry. ”
