JD Gaming sign up for ADC Hope

Wang “Hope” Jie will be JD Gaming’s starting ADC for LPL Spring 2022, the team revealed last night. Hoping to fill the vacancy of Lee “LokeN” Dong-wook, who left the team earlier in the season.

The under-21 laner has spent most of his career with EDward Gaming, competing with the organization for almost 4 years. During this time, Hope frequently crept in and out of the main roster, although he mostly played on EDG’s development team, the EDG Youth Team.

Playing as starters for EDward Gaming in 2020, Hope and the team only won mid-range results. He rose to prominence after returning to the organization’s development division in LDL, even though his teams finished early in the Spring Qualifiers. Hoping to have one more at the LPL main stage in the 2022 Spring Split — this time with a different team.

Similarly, JDG is looking to rebuild after a lackluster season. They won the 2020 LPL Spring Split Qualifier and performed well at Worlds 2020, but were unable to replicate that success next year. JDG had a rough playoff in the 2021 Spring Split and missed out on the Summer Split playoffs entirely.

In 2022, JDG is basing an almost entirely new roster. Lou “Missing” Yun-Feng will join Hope in the bot lane as team support. Former Top Esports top laner Bai “369” Jia-Hao also joined the organization earlier in the season. Built around the pillars of the team’s mid laner and jungler, JDG hopes to come back stronger in 2022.
