Jason Reitman wants Diablo Cody to write ‘Ghostbusters’ movie
Jason Reitman raised his hope that his dream is for several different filmmakers go on the boat Ghostbusters franchise to create new parts, using the supposed success of Kingdom Come as the starting point for the expansion of the universe.
After debuted with $44 million at the box office last weekend, the chances of further supernatural adventures getting the green light have increased dramatically, which would ultimately justify the existence of the Ghost Legion production company founded solely to focus on Ghostbusters the projects.
In an interview with Mixed joy and sadness podcast, Reitman further explains his intentions for the future of the series, and it wouldn’t be surprising to discover that he’s spoken to frequent collaborator Diablo Cody about joining.
“If you don’t think I haven’t had this conversation with her, you don’t know our relationship well enough. Yes, we talked about Ghostbusters. I want to see a Diablo Cody Ghostbusters movie. She’s one of the best storytellers alive, we’ve done four movies together and I want to do a fifth.”
Cody won an Academy Award for Reitman’s screenplay Junoand they collaborated again on Tully and The young, while he is also one of the producers on Jennifer’s body. They clearly have strong personal and professional relationships, and the concept of a talent like Cody tackles Ghostbusters the movie is nothing if not a compelling movie.
Of course, it all depends on whether Sony decides to take the lead next Kingdom Come rejuvenated the brand after Paul Feig’s controversial reboot.
