Jared Leto Breaks ‘Morbius’ Fight Scene, Reveals Movie Details

Talking exclusively with IGN, Morbius star Jared Leto, broke down the most recent action shot, detailing how the cast and crew came together to create an integral scene in the upcoming film.

The detailed sequence revolves around Morbius’ transition to his vampire version, but of course, in the process, suspense ensues as all hell breaks loose. Taking place on a container ship in international waters where all laws are forgotten as Dr. Michael Morbius tries to cure his illness by interfering with science.

However, after Morbius’ transformation, the action began, when the gunmen placed on the doctor on board, Morbius was given chance to test his newfound skills including his super strength, super speed, enhanced agility, radar sense, and of course his sharp teeth and claws.

Morbius Director Daniel Espinosa told IGN, that the scene from the conversation details Dr. Morbius trying to cure his fatal illness but doing so has dire consequences.

“This is the scene where Morbius commits a fundamental crime against himself that will motivate him, not only to change himself, but to become the hero we want him to be. This is the scene where Peter Parker loses Ben.”

While behind the scenes, IGN’s Joshua Yehl learned that it took three different settings to shoot a scene, an actual container ship to shoot the exterior, a built-in laboratory that acts as an open space for Dr. Morbius works and an actual chocolate factory is filled with pipes and machines that act like the inside of a container ship. Executive producer Louise Rosner told IGN that multiple sets were needed to showcase Morbius’ skills.

“We found a slot where you get more depth and mystery because we weren’t really showing Morbius’ character here. Those are more glimpses of him. So we needed to find places to hide him and to really feel like the original Alien, that kind of pressure and thrill. ”

Such an important scene for a character and their important transformation into a terrifying creature that requires a lot of effort on the scene, and though fans haven’t gotten too excited since the last trailer, producer Lucas Foster talked about the transformation aka Morbius.

“The moment that Dr. Michael Morbius became Morbius was an unforgettable moment. And we’re doing everything we can to make that emotionally powerful. It’s like a one-way door that he goes through. So that’s a big moment for the character, and it’s a big moment for the movie.”
