James Gunn teases unexpected surprises in Guardians Of The Galaxy 3

Looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be a bit different, which is ironic of course when it comes to James Gunn.

James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

James Gunn seems to be flying high these days. Between the release Suicide Squad the end of last year and the premiere of People of Peace on HBO Max, it’s almost easy to forget that he has tons of other projects still in the works. Fortunately, he hasn’t forgotten, and he has a lot to say about what fans can expect as he moves the border from DC back to Marvel for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

People of Peace just released the first 3 episodesand viewers were raving about the show. So while the violent John Cena-led festival is still fresh on everyone’s mind, director Gunn is poised to keep people looking forward to some of his other big benchmarks coming up. From the 3rd movie in a surprise fan Guardians of the Galaxy Franchising for a special holiday will make Star Wars envious, there’s so much to get excited about.

In an interview with Collider about the launch of People of Peace, Gunn got a chance to go into some details about his upcoming sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and one of the new faces that viewers will enjoy this time around. One newcomer in particular is British-Nigerian actor Chukwudi Iwuji, who looks like he’ll be one of Gunn’s favorites to use in his projects. “It would be great,” Gunn said. “Chukwudi, who played Murn in People of Peace, is one of the main characters in the movie and everyone is feverish because of this guy’s talent. Literally freaky. I think I’m really happy. “

Gunn continued to reveal to the audience about the upcoming movie. “It’s different from what people would expect,” he continued. “It’s been a tough road, but I’m really happy with it so far.” Seems like that’s not the only thing he has to be happy about because the conversation eventually turned to Guardians of the Galaxy special holiday, was announced over a year ago. Naturally, many are curious about the progress of this particularly quirky and ambitious project. Unfortunately, it turns out they haven’t even started filming yet. But that doesn’t mean fans should worry.

“It’s still about to be filmed,” explained Gunn. “We were planning to shoot one day in LA, and there were too many Omicrons around, so we couldn’t do it. We’ll have to fit it in. I haven’t started yet. I’m happy. It’s fun. .” It’s sad that “there’s too much Omicron around” is such a mundane thing to say now that it sounds so far-fetched and out of context. But at least it helps explain delay for Guardians of the Galaxy special holiday.

However, the audience should not worry. Gunn has been a pretty reliable director in recent years, and he’s shown time and time again that his projects are well worth the wait. So a little longer shouldn’t be an issue. Plus, the idea that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 going to be different from what some are expecting is definitely something to get excited about, especially from the guy who did Sylvester Stallone transforms into a big chubby shark.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will now be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
