When The Daily Bugle Was Into The MCU At The End Spider-Man: Far From Home, The newspaper has been re-imagined for the times as a fake news site much like InfoWars. Marketing to the people who come Spider-Man: There’s no way home is taking the concept of Bugle updates and running with it by launching a Daily Bugle TikTok account – featuring new footage of JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson!
TikTok account @thedailybugleofficial just came out this Wednesday and it shows a big change to an important character from Spider-Man: Home trilogy of works. As explained in the first video shared on the page, Peter Parker’s classmate Betty Brant (Angourie Rice) started as an (unpaid) intern at TheDailyBugle.Net and was put in charge of the TikTok account. its:
The second video then brings in Simmons’ Jameson. A submission of TikTok challenges, it asks Betty and the infamous Spidey hater to “tell us you hate Spider-Man without telling us you hate Spider-Man”. Although Betty defends her friend against slander, calling Peter a “very nice person” who saved her life, JJJ of course considers him a “threat”.
The third and most recent video shared at the time of writing shows Betty back, this time encouraging fans to become Bugle interns just like her, which they can do by downloading Pack the Daily Bugle Reporter via the link in your account’s bio (you can also visit here).
With the much-anticipated third season just over three weeks away at this point, and after last week’s dramatic second trailer, the marketing machine for Spider-Man: There’s no way home going well and really growing. Expect more exciting things to come soon and as we already know, the movie will hit theaters on December 17th.
