At the end of tonight’s EA Play live stream, publishers revealed that a Dead space The remake is in the works at Motive Studio (who previously worked on Star Wars: Squadrons and Star Wars Battlefront 2). It looks scary, it looks great, and it doesn’t look like I’m going to play it in a room alone. Download the first trailer below.
Not much has been revealed about this Dead Space reboot, in short, that it actually exists. However, on the official Dead Space Twitter account, they confirmed this is a remake.
“Remember your worst nightmare – limb limb,” they say. “The first Dead Space review, rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studio.”
In a press release, EA said: “Fans will experience an improved story, characters, gameplay mechanics, and more as they battle to survive the nightmare.” living aboard the desolate mining ship, the USG Ishimura, all the while uncovering the horrifying mystery of what happened to the crew and the slaughtered ship.”
The Dead Space remake is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in the future. No release date news yet, but you can check it out webpage for more information.
For now, it looks like this is just the first Dead Space remake. That is clearly shown in the charming “cut off limbs” bloody graffiti splashing on the wall in that teaser. But given the success of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, I wonder if they will re-release the entire Dead Space trilogy in some form. I suppose we’ll have to wait to find out.
