Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ and defiant appearance

While “Insecure” has a larger slice of life than “Awkward Black Girl,” it’s still very awkward (not to mention, hilarious) nonetheless. In a recent episode, Issa struggled to navigate her way around the bed that was being rolled down the hospital hallway, leading to two damned footsteps that occurred as the two faced each other, both having to zigzagging when one of them should have squirmed. The suspense still lingers as the show throws a (predictable) curve: Issa discovers her ex, Lawrence (Jay Ellis), with Condola (Christina Elmore), the mother of her child. he and their infant go to a doctor’s appointment, and the two exchange brief glances in the headlights.
