Isolation developer joins Everwild team at Rare

Rare hires Ex-Designer of Alien: Isolation for Everwild, a brand new adventure IP set in a natural and magical world.
Xbox and Rare’s Everwild was first announced in 2019 as a unique brand new IP with the promise of unforgettable experiences in a natural and magical world. The game has since gone dark, and in fact, some reports say that EverwildThe development of has been restarted. Now a brand new developer has joined the team that was previously worked on Alien: Isolation.
EverwildThe initial reveal is a shocker, as the trailer introduces a world hungry to be discovered. But it’s been two years since the game came out and earlier this year Rare shared that they are looking for a senior designer to join Everwild team. Recently, Napper revealed on Twitter that he has joined Rare as Design Director on Everwild. He has experience working for Supermassive Games, Sony, Criterion and EA. He is also the Lead Designer on Alien: Isolation with Creative Assembly. When Everwild Looks like going through some development changes, it’s unlikely that the open sandbox style adventure game suddenly becomes a survival horror game, that’s what Alien: Isolation to be. Napper, however, seems to be a solid tenant.
Everwild is a title that some fans have wondered about the longevity of the game’s development. Xbox has a lot of exciting games in development–and though Everwild could top the list for uniqueness – announcements like the hiring of Napper are needed to confirm that the game is indeed still on track. Some recent rumors indicate that Rare has completely started over with Everwildof development. Alternatively, the 2024 release window might now be what the team is aiming for. If those rumors are true, Napper’s recruitment is certainly one of the key pieces of the puzzle.
Although very little information has been shared about this title for a while, it seems that Rarely have ambitious plans for Everwild. The X019 trailer itself from November 2019 captured fans’ imaginations with its combination of still and stunning visuals with a seemingly larger-than-life scale and feel. If Rare can do that with a full release – with the help of Gary Napper and his experience – it could be a huge win for Xbox, regardless of how the game goes through some rough patches. type restart development or not.
