Isabel Marant drops Snow Capsule with Mytheresa – WWD

COOL SWEET: After hitting street in China, Isabel Marant is getting ready to hit the slopes – with retailer Mytheresa.

After hooking up in spring 2020, the French fashion label has teamed up once again with the retailer to create an exclusive snowball launching Wednesday.

This 33-piece cold-weather wardrobe includes “all the things you need to keep the cold winter temperatures from affecting you” and at the same time looks great, as the French designer put it, from pants ski suit slopes with straps and fur coats. to achieve clear slopes, to knit sunglasses and accessories to stay cozy later.

While the French designer has explored beachgoers in the past, this is her first time designing a ski collection. “I have always loved comfortable and sophisticated clothes that you can wear for different occasions. I also enjoy the outdoors in general,” she wrote, adding that she applied brand cues like ikat prints, exaggerated shoulders and Irish knits to the inspired outfits. from ski to cream, raspberry red and honey yellow.

Though she won’t pick a favorite, saying it’s like choosing between one’s children, Marant still outlines her winter must-haves as “a soft coat.” Great commercial, a comfortable jacket, a thick beanie or balaclava, and of course, a great pair of boots and a pair of sunglasses to block out that mountain light. ”

For the debut, Mytheresa imagined a dedicated editorial story under the direction of creative director Julian Paul, with American model Heather Kemesky and photographed by Dutch photographer Ferry van der Nat.

Price of “Isabel Marant x Mytheresa” snow capsule will range from 110 euros for a knit headband and up to 1,950 euros for a cropped vest, with parkas hitting 700 euros. Footwear will include snowshoes and a pair of its famous wedge sneakers, retailing at 495 euros.
