Minecraft has been around for over a decade now and its popularity has multiplied many times over the years. The developers have been actively working to add new things to the game and we witnessed two major updates released last year. We also have some interesting things to look forward to in the coming months as the developers work on more updates.

Considering the popularity of Minecraft, it was pretty obvious that there will be a movie someday. A number of producers approached Mojang for the rights, but Mojang initially refused. However, that changed over the years, and eventually the developers struck a deal.

After rejecting many offers, Mojang announced that Warner Bros. is indeed developing one Minecraft Movie in 2014. It’s definitely evolved since then, so yeah, that Minecraft Movie is definitely real. At the time, the film was set to be released sometime in 2019. However, a series of exits from the project, followed by a change in leadership, pushed back the film’s release date to 2018. It was then that the entire project was re-imagined from the ground up.

In 2020, it was announced that the film would be released in March 2022 and fans were looking forward to it. However, the cursed project continued to struggle and was postponed again in 2020. This time around, Warner Bros. didn’t announce a release date, so it’s been postponed indefinitely.

To come back to the question, we get a Minecraft movie tomorrow? Definitely not. As mentioned, it has been postponed indefinitely, and to date there is no release date. We’ll have to hear more about the film afterwards, so don’t expect anything soon.
