Iran says 44 million people are fully vaccinated, half the population
In June, Iran also officially started using the domestically produced COVIran Barekat vaccine without publishing data on the safety or effectiveness of this vaccine. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who previously warned against US and British vaccine imports amid deep distrust in the West, broadcast the homemade vaccine on state TV and encourage the public to follow suit.
