Iran proves not serious about nuclear talks

Another sign of Tehran’s attitude towards the negotiations is the man chosen to lead the Iranian delegation. Instead of keeping the same team that successfully negotiated the 2015 deal, President Ebrahim Raisi appointed Ali Bagheri Kani, a hard-line critic and critic of the JCPOA. That sends the same message as if Biden had appointed Republican Senator Tom Cotton, an Iranian, as the top US negotiator. (The president’s de facto leader on Iran is Rob Malley, a key member of the JCPOA team.)
