Interview with Manoj “Sentinel” Kashyap of Velocity Gaming

Indian e-sports organization Velocity Gaming (VLT) has been established as one of India’s leading e-sports organizations thanks to its success in Valorant with more LAN wins than the organization’s name. However, the organization did not initially break into India’s lucrative mobile esports market despite being interested in it for quite some time. Krafton’s launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and the introduction of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) appear to have ignited organizational interests once again. It finally got into mobile e-sports by picking up the former Team IND BGMI team in November 2021.

In an interview with AFK Gaming, Velocity Gaming owner Manoj “Sentinel“Kashyap reveals the work behind signing and authorizing a BGMI listing in India. He explains Velocity Gaming’s e-sports first mantra and why they signed with BGMI. He also opened up about the financial aspects of running an Indian esports team and the challenges a Tier 1 organization faces.
