Interior Dept. creates task force to study its police departments, with former Park Police chief as chair

The Inside Division has regulation enforcement officers within the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Administration, Bureau of Reclamation, Fish and Wildlife Service, Nationwide Park Service and Park Police, which falls underneath the Park Service. A Justice Department census of all full-time federal regulation enforcement officers as of 2016 discovered Inside had 3,630 officers, about half of them Nationwide Park Service Rangers. The Park Police was listed as having 560 sworn officers. The Park Police not too long ago declined to say what its present staffing is.
