Popular jewels La Manso brand, favorites of Bella Hadid, Lily-Rose Depp and Dua Lipa, among others, is opening its first pop-up store in the US

The brand was launched in 2019 and quickly caught the attention of its bon-bon ring designs – brightly colored, oversized plastic jewelry studded with rhinestones and gold globes. .

Founded by Adriana Manso, the company has sold more than 50,000 rings and is pushing other products such as earrings, necklaces, hairpins and handbags. The hashtag on TikTok #LaManso has over 13.5 million views and #LaMansoRings has accumulated over 4.1 million hits.

Manso, a former lighting designer, wanted to create a brand that recycles plastic in a fun and engaging way. “I was wondering how to use the plastic I was recovering [in lighting design] And then this design happened and I wanted to show it to the world. I started there, from scratch, and communicated what I wanted to do,” she said, nodding at La Manso’s quirky, vampire online presence.

Now operating at a higher-than-expected output, Manso uses a mix of recycled and new materials, and works with plastic companies in Spain and Italy to produce jewels. Her company boomed because of the pandemic with 13 employees.

The New York City pop-up store, which will run from December 10 to 19 at 227 Mott Street, is designed as a tribute to Mrs. Manso’s newsagent that has been recreated from memory. It will contain the brand’s signature jewelry as well as limited edition t-shirts, belts and rings.

“My grandmother was a big inspiration to me, she had a newspaper shop in Barcelona and when I was a kid, I loved it. I started my obsession with plastic [jewelry] there, get free rings and things along with newspapers. I wanted to give people this experience and bring my grandmother’s newspaper shop to New York,” she said.

The US is Manso’s top market for web sales, followed by the UK and Australia. She said many of the brand’s American customers live in New York, and she wanted to appeal to that audience during the holiday season when she feels like the city has a special “vibe”.
