Inscryption’s Kaycee’s Mod Expansion Will Be Released March 17

Polygon’s Game of the Year 2021 will receive some new content. EncodeNew Kaycee’s Mod expansion will arrive in game on March 17, publisher Devolver Digital announced on Tuesday.

Kaycee’s Mod expands on the game’s Act I, a deck-building card game played in a very creepy motel, and turns it into its own self-contained spoof. While that’s exactly how the game normally presents itself, some tweaks take it in a much larger direction. But after seeing the positive response the card game received and the atmosphere of the season, developer Dan Mullins decided to turn the segment into private mode. The mini-expansion seems to only take place in Leshy’s cabin, but given the original game, it’s hard not to wonder if it might hold a few secrets.

For anyone who hasn’t played all of the original game, the name Kaycee may seem a bit mysterious. But based on Encoderecounted, Kaycee was a programmer on the in-universe version of Encode who discovers that there is a dark secret behind the game. According to legend, she created a mod of the game to expose these secrets, which could be the source of this “mod”. But it’s not really clear whether those secrets are really present here.

Kaycee’s Mod will be freely available to anyone who owns it Encode On steam. Previously it was available in beta. Inscryption’s Kaycee’s Mod Expansion Will Be Released March 17
