Innocent Russian stars say they were banned after Putin’s Ukraine invasion

London-based adult subscription service OnlyFans is deleting the accounts of content creators in both Russia and Belarus, according to several stars of the site.

It’s not clear if the changes are obvious is a political move or if New sanctions imposed on Russia in the aftermath of Invasion of Ukraine made it impossible for the women to get paid through the site.

A cosplay creator, who is in charge of kanra_cosplay, posted a photo of an announcement that OnlyFans had canceled her account. “Wake up and got this message from @onlyfans @OnlyFansSupport they decided to delete my account without any warning! ” she writes. “I had money there and without it we wouldn’t be able to live. Why do they do this to normal people?! You decided to ruin our lives?!?! ”

The other person who tweets under the handle @_Black_way_ said she and other adult stars are “hostages”, writing, “I don’t support this war, but I have become its hostage, like other creators from Russia. Models, cosplayers, artists, youtubers and others. We all find ourselves blocked on our platforms or unable to receive income from them just because we are Russian.” Then she added, “I’m from Russia. And I’m an artist, not a soldier with a weapon. I want to continue my artistic activities and make the people around me happy, not competing.”

Several other content providers based in Belarus and Russia tweeted similar complaints. An executor under Shirogane-sama’s management tweeted that she was actually protesting against her government. “While I was attending the protests and trying my best to help my Ukrainian friends, @onlyfans without any warning just stripped me of all the income I earned to live on. in a country with a government I didn’t choose,” she tweeted. “On what basis are you embezzling my fan’s money?” she then tweeted. “If you’re breaking your own duties and rules and doing this to me, are other car models safe?”

After the UK agreed to block Russia from the SWIFT network, it became difficult to process payments to anyone living in Russia. While Belarus has not been blocked by SWIFT, many of those affected are financially registered in Russia.

The ban apparently also affects stars from Belarus, including a cosplay star named Evenink_cosplay, who wrote:

“Thank you Onlyfans for banning me, a girl from Belarus, from your platform. Now I lost my job, can’t buy food and pay the rent 🤡✌️.

“While those who actually participated in the war had no problem, models and cosplayers could not work and earn income. Thanks for these ‘real actions’. ”
