Inmate dies after an ‘altercation’ at the state prison in Gunnison

It’s the second obvious murder on the Central Utah Correctional Facility in lower than six weeks.

Authorities are investigating the obvious murder of an inmate on the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.

Based on the Utah Division of Corrections, William Fowers, 60, was concerned in “an altercation” on Wednesday night. He was taken to the jail’s infirmary, the place he died a short while later.

His dying is being investigated by the Utah State Bureau of Investigation.

Based on the Division of Corrections, Fowers had spent “the vast majority of his time incarcerated” since he was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and sodomy on a toddler in 1986.

It was the second obvious killing on the jail in lower than six weeks. The physique of Dale Lee Rush was found in his cell on June 28, and is being investigated as a murder. The corrections division has launched no additional details about his dying.
