Injured cyclist rescued from Kettle Valley Rail Trail in BC – Okanagan

An injured cyclist was rescued in the Myra Canyon area Saturday night.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) said in a news release that their team, along with members of the Kelowna Fire Department, were called to the Myra Canyon area after receiving reports of a cyclist stalling on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail bumped his head.

“COSAR’s e-bike team first arrived from the side of the Kettle Valley Railway’s Myra station, conducting a medical exam along the way [Kelowna Fire Department] Team came in with their Gator from Ruth Station,” the COSAR press release said.

The cyclist was found and treated for a head injury and transported by Gator to a waiting ambulance.

“COSAR would like to thank the employees of Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental for their support,” the COSAR press release reads.

That was the 51stSt Task COSAR has responded this year and the sixth on the KVR trail.
