Indie shooter Clid the Snail coming to PC in December

Collecting information coming to the Steam store at the end of this December is Clid the Snail, a top-down shooter about the world’s fiercest, laziest, and deadliest snails. The only way a snail can be dangerous is if you’re armed with a gun, and that’s the case with Clid. True, it’s hard to say that Clid is actually a snail. And it seems that Clid has two legs to stand on, not crawl on his stomach like all other snails. However, I don’t want that gun pointed at me.

You will follow Clid, an anthropomorphic snail, as he explores a dark fantasy world to destroy the plague of slugs. An arsenal of heavy weapons, combined with your abilities as a snail, and no slugs or anything can stand in your way. However, you are not the only bug-like creature to join you. Belu is a loyal and talkative firefly, and they will accompany you on your journey as you move to eradicate the plague ravaging this land.

Scary

Clid the Snail will focus heavily on the story, which follows a journey of “exile, friendship, and betrayal.” Clid is a troublesome and eccentric little girl, making him the perfect vessel to deliver a character-driven story. I would imagine that an anthropomorphic snail would land in the outcast genre, and it looks like this game won’t betray my expectations.

Combat will also rely heavily on strategy. Challenges require precise gunplay and strategic positioning, as enemies will behave in certain ways that you must pay full attention to. You will have different types of guns, grenades and “shells” that will help you defeat your enemies.

Clid the Snail Will release on Steam on December 15. It is the first game from Weird Beluga Studio, released with the support of the PlayStation Talent Program. You can see more information at its Steam store page.
