‘Incident’ closes road in Summerville, multiple patrol cars present in the area

Summerville, South Carolina – At least one road was closed Tuesday morning due to an “accident” in Summerville.

It is unknown at this time what caused the road closure.

According to the latest information, the Brighton part of Brighton from Edge Street to Green Line Drive was closed until 6 p.m.

Dispatchers confirm that there is a deputy at the scene who will keep traffic around and away from the scene.

Drivers are asked to be careful while driving in the area and, if possible, to use alternative routes.

Several patrol cars were reportedly at the scene.

Police did not say what happened or why the road was closed.

Update: Around 7:30 a.m., Berkeley County Sheriff Dwayne Lewis said a woman was found dead in front of her car in Brighton Park Boulevard.
