Buster Posey returned from a two-week absence and blasted a homer twice in his first game to help the visiting San Francisco Giants win 7-2 over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening game of series four. Monday game.
Posey, the seven-time All-Star catcher who has been sidelined since injuring his left thumb on July 4, is one of four Giants with multiple hits.
Posey and Wilmer Flores connected to hit the hosts head-to-head in the first inning. Max Muncy and Justin Turner pitted them against consecutive hosts in the first half of the Dodgers, but the Giants never surrendered.
Zack Littell, Jarlin Garcia (2-2), Dominic Leone and Jay Jackson combined for five unsuccessful rounds at the San Francisco bullpen before Jake McGee threw a ninth. The first-place Giants have extended their lead in National League West by two games over the second-placed Dodgers.
Giants starter Kevin Gausman is second with the second-lowest ERA in the majors (1.73), but he experienced the shortest starting game of the season. He went three innings, allowing for two and three hits while attacking five and walking three on 80 yards.

Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin (1-1) went 3 innings of 1/3, allowing three runs and five hits. He hit out three and went four.
LaMonte Wade Jr doubled the lead to lead the game, and the two beat later, Posey hitting a 3-2 slide over the fence on the left for his 13th game of the season. Flores continued with his 10th shot of the year, hitting deep into the center left, making it 3-0.
Muncy scored for the third time in 15 games against Gausman and for the eighth time in 30 encounters with the Giants this season, taking a 3-1 lead. It was his 22nd of the season, and it was followed by Turner with his 17th.
The Giants took the game away with four runs in Saturday. Jason Vosler had a stunner, Thairo Estrada hit a brace in two runs, and Austin Slater doubled for home Estrada to make it 7-2.
