Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One Trailer shows Tom Cruise driving a motorcycle off a cliff

The first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One has just officially been shelved, arriving more than a year ahead of the film’s scheduled premiere date after it was leaked on Twitter over the weekend.
Tom Cruise is back as Impossible Missions Force (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt, who dodges sniper fire during a desert storm, speeds through Italian cities in a comically tiny yellow car, and gets involved in a stabbing on a moving train. He also throws in a few punches, runs as fast as he can and — oh, of course — drives a motorcycle off a cliff and parachutes onto the ground below. Casual behavior.
It’s the most action packed action movie trailer I’ve ever seen. It’s essentially two minutes and 15 seconds of Cruise, who is known to do his own stunts and insists that at 59, he’s more physically fit than most twenty-somethings could ever dream of. I needed a nap after seeing it.
The trailer doesn’t offer much in terms of plot, but it does feature a notable performance by Henry Czerny as Kittridge, a character we haven’t seen since the original Impossible Mission Movie in 1996. “Your days of fighting for the so-called ‘higher good’ are over,” Czerny warns ominously (read: vaguely). “This is our chance to control the truth, the concepts of right and wrong for all for centuries to come. You fight to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. It never did. You have to choose a side.”
directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Dead Reckoning Part One will be the seventh installment in the Impossible Mission Franchise. McQuarrie also directed the previous two sequels, villain nation and Stand out. Dead reckoning part 2 Set to debut a year after the first, it is expected to be Cruise’s final motorcycle ride as Ethan Hunt. (As if we would believe that…)
Cruise and Czerny are joined in the trailer by series regulars Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson and Simon Pegg. The crown‘s Vanessa Kirby reprises her role Stand out. Newcomers Hayley Atwell and Esai Morales round out the cast.
The teaser for Dead Reckoning Part One premiered at CinemaCon last month and was re-released at the European premiere of Cruise’s other new blockbuster franchise film this past weekend. Top Gun: Maverick. However, internet sleuths also got their hands on the widely unseen footage and posted it to Twitter. That tweet The trailer leaked on Saturday has since been removed for copyright infringement.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is slated to hit theaters on July 14, 2023 after being delayed four times due to multiple COVID-19 filming.
As you may recall, in December 2020, leaked audio from Cruise crew members for disobeying COVID safety protocols went viral. He got amazing praise for his out of control tirade, because I guess it’s okay to yell at your subordinates at work as long as it’s in the name of public health?
Anyhow, just something to keep in mind as we’re all looking at this $300 million superspreader project, uh, I mean… fun action movie next summer.
