Despite his lousy performance in the UFC late in the game, Darren Till don’t mind fighting a top middleweight in the next match. The Liverpool boxer wants a top middleweight and Sean Strickland in the selection list.
Darren Till have unflinching confidence. The Liverpool boxer is one of the fan favorites and has been showing since he entered the octagon. The boxer hasn’t been in his best form lately but is looking to bounce back with a win over a top middleweight. The middleweight class becomes the under-achieving middleweight in the new weight class.
All of Darren’s defeats have gone to the middleweight contenders with first place. His last two defeats were against the former champion Robert Whittaker against someone he lost through a very close decision and another against Derek Brunson who submitted him in the third round. The final victory of the boxer is against the champion candidate Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244.
Darren recently joined the podcast “Believe You Me” hosted by his countryman, Michael Bisping. The director talked about his confidence and his recent failures. The warrior is not afraid of his losses but only uses it as fuel for his next move. “I enjoy failures and this is another failure, but I never want to have another failure in my MMA career again,” said Till on the Believe You Me podcast.
Darren Till named his favorite name for the next battle

Till is currently ranked #9 in middle rankings. This fighter is only looking to beat fighters higher than him in rank and the UFC seems fine with that too. “The UFC said to me, ‘Darren, we’re with you and we know what your potential is and we really love you’. I said ‘of course.’ They asked me who I wanted to fight and I said Jared Cannonier is a good guy,” said Till talked to Michael Bisping.
Jared Cannonier was no longer an option as he was battling Derek Brunson in a title fight at UFC 270. “Those are some of the options they gave me. One fight that I really like is Sean Strickland. ” Sean was originally scheduled to face the former champion, Luke Rockhold, at a great UFC 268 card but the fight was postponed due to Rockhold’s injury.
Darren is ready to fight Sean Strickland and also talked to his opponent about the potential fight. Sean is ranked at 7th and a win against him could help Till climb up the leaderboard. Despite his setbacks, Till will fight a top boxer. “I’m still fighting at the top and that’s how it is,” says ‘The Gorilla’ on the Bisping podcast.
