If Democrats are going to lose, they need to fight for the future

America is seven months away from the midterm elections. Seven months until Democrats slowly move toward certain electoral destruction at the hands of Republicans who want to repeal abortion rights, tackle climate change, sound gun regulations, LGBTQ+ rights, racial equity, suffrage, etc.

And if the recent spats from the House Select Committee on January 6 are any indication, Democrats are completely out of touch with the urgency of the moment. By signaling that it may not refer twice impeached former President Donald Trump to the Justice Department for blatant criminal interference in the 2020 election, the committee nearly declared itself obsolete.

In fact, there is a mountain of evidence pointing to criminal activity not only by Trump, but by his entire herd of compatriots. Why have a committee on January 6th, if it is not prepared to do the whole thing?
