‘I would never point a gun at anyone and pull out a trigger gun’

In the aftermath of the seemingly accidental and deadly shooting that occurred on the set of Alec Baldwin’s “Rust,” there are still questions regarding exactly what happened and who was at fault.
On October 21, while filming on set for his upcoming western, Baldwin was given a gun for his shoot. The scene involved drawing a revolver and pointing it at the camera, like New York Times reported.
But then the gun went off and hit the cameraman Halyna Hutchins in the chest and director Joel Souza in the role. Hutchins, unfortunately, died of the shot.
Questions surrounding the incident were immediately raised. Why is there a live gun on set? Does Baldwin know it was loaded with live loops? Why didn’t anyone seem to notice there was live ammunition in the gun before it was given to Baldwin?
In an interview clip released on Wednesday, Baldwin said he didn’t pull the trigger.
Asked by @GStephanopoulos Alec Baldwin said: “I don’t know. Someone put a real bullet in a gun. A bullet isn’t even supposed to be in the property. “

“Well, the trigger is not pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” the actor told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
“So you never pulled the trigger?” Stephanopoulos frankly asked him.
Did Baldwin pull the trigger?
“No no no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never,” Baldwin replied.
Baldwin said he did not know there was live ammunition in the gun and furthermore, he did not know how the surviving bullets got into the facility.
Reuters note that the full interview with Stephanopoulos will be released on Thursday, but some clips were posted on Wednesday.
Law enforcement is still investigating the incident and no charges have been filed CNBC.
While this killing seems to have been completed Accident, Baldwin making sure he didn’t pull the trigger is questionable. He may not be able to remember or have prevented the events of the day from entering his mind, but letting a gun go off on its own is nearly impossible.
Technically, it’s possible for a gun to accidentally discharge if it’s dropped, but it’s extremely rare. Furthermore, Baldwin also has a revolver, which tends to be one of the most unsafe guns, even in the event of an accidental discharge. Most firearms will have a drop safety pin or a firing pin.
“Modern revolvers tend to be the ‘safest’ guns in terms of accidental drops, as there is a slider between the hammer and the firing pin,” Science ABC explain.
It is possible to never know what really happened on set that day. It could have been an accident, and with so many moving parts, there’s a lot of confusion about how things happen. But due to the characteristic mechanics of a revolver, it is unlikely that Baldwin did not touch the trigger and the gun just fired.
Baldwin admits to Stephanopoulos that this is the worst thing that has ever happened to him. But during the interview, the actor was ready to answer questions and share what he knows.
“As you can imagine he was devastated but he was also very outspoken, he was very forthcoming,” said Stephanopoulos, as Reuters reported. “He answered every question.”
