I hope watching the closed beta of New World finally excites me

I keep watching Amazon’s upcoming MMO New world with a lack of desire for reality. I have the same opinion as Ed, who said that he want to play MMO again but don’t like them anymore. I also want to be someone who still likes MMOs. Even if I don’t actively want to play New World, I can’t deny my curiosity. I’ll be watching live streams of others playing in its closed beta next week to see if it can pique my interest. You should probably do the same if you haven’t decided on the same.

“We’re excited to share all the new features and content we’ve added since last summer’s Preview Event, such as the stunning and dangerous New Territories, Expedition, Outpost Rush, new weapons and more missions, adventures and activities for players to experience around the world,” Amazon Game Studios said in latest closed beta post. Amazon also says that closed beta participants can share and live stream their playtime, which I would count on everyone to do.

Amazon has shared more information about some bits in the run-up to launch. Of them Information about Expeditions explains the five dungeons installed to the player. The Outpost Rush Mode is a 20-on-20-player stronghold-controlled match. They also talked about Intent for main story quest, including many better general mission objectives. “In many cases, we’ve replaced generic loot targets with new interactive items tailored to a specific mission,” they said.

Dungeons and quests are both good and good but I’ve spent over a decade on many of the same things. If there’s anything to watch, I imagine it’s the Outpost Rush matches. Large-scale PvP isn’t revolutionary for MMORPGs, but it’s a potential area for New World to stand out. I also want to see how its combat feels right now. New World will offer a more action-packed RPG fighting style, with free aim for ranged weapons and lots of movement. It seems closer to Black Desert style than your bars.

It certainly looks nice too, honestly. Even its interface is attractive, which is usually my big complaint with MMOs.

I love the mid millennium fantasy costume like the next MMO, I’m just not sure if the new world of New World will pull me in as I can’t muster the desire to go back to The Elder world your old Scrolls Online — or even try FFXIV. Maybe Ed is right. Maybe I just don’t like MMOs anymore. Even so, I’m still not ready to accept that as the truth, so I thought I would queue up some live streams in closed beta when it starts next week.

If you want to try it live, you can still register to participate New World website. The closed beta runs for two weeks, from next Tuesday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. BST / 9:30 a.m. PDT through August 2 at 11:59 p.m. PDT (8). a.m. BST August 3).

New World fully launched on August 31 On steam for £35/€40/$40.
